Quarter Five.

Fri Oct 30, 2009, 5:22 PM
So, it's now the end of week 4 of my 5th quarter at AISD. My designs have been coming along well, and I'm completely blowing away my digital grid systems (publication design) course.

On the other hand, I've got another hand rendering class called Concept Design that's stressing me out a bit. The only thing saving me there is the fact the instructor is searching for concept rather than production quality. I got a "B" grade on the first project, so I suppose that's been going well.

Ambassadorship has been an interesting experience as well. I've been attending events sponsored by the school, and recently made a flier for the quarterly talent show. I posted those up around campus today.

This all sounds fantastic, I know, but It's all work I've been doing for free. I need money, and my job isn't providing the sufficient hours. I've gotta figure something out soon.

Most people prefer Macs for animation/design work. That's what I've got as well. Adobe programs seem to run smoother on Apple computers.

You'll be sacrificing Microsoft Office cause it's way different on the mac, but it's well worth it.

Alrighty! Sounds good. Thanks! :D

Hi, you don't know me, but I go to Ai also, and for animation, you *can* use a Mac (I personally prefer them) but you'll mostly be working on pc. Max and Maya (the 3d programs you'll be using) work best on Windows. I would recommend an HP or a Toshiba...they are a bit pricier, but they have the longest life spans and best hardware specifications.
:iconsockaichan:
Awesome, thanks for the advice!

Looking forward to beining at AI! ^_^
